Significant New Applications

72 Brighton Road (Ref: 21/03938/FUL) Extension of existing property to create 8 flats (4 x 3 bed, 4 x 2 bed) with 3 car parking spaces. Comment: This appears to be a retrospective application as work is well underway on site!! Object based on: Loss of a Family home, Overdevelopment, Detrimental to amenity of neighbouring occupiers, Inadequate car parking / Highway safety.

861 Brighton Road (Ref: 21/06020/FUL) Extension and convert existing dwelling to multiple units (1 x 3 bed, 3 x 2 bed) Comment: This is half of a semi-detached house opposite the Rotary Field. No indication is made about car parking provision. Object based on: Loss of a family home, Highways and car parking in view of this very busy location and its proximity to a school.

934 Brighton Road (Ref: 21/06386/FUL) Proposed roof extension above existing studio flat to create a 1 bedroom flat. Comment: Adopt a neutral stance.

114 Downlands Road (Ref: 21/05867/FUL) Demolition of existing family home and construction of a four storey block of 8 flats (3 X 3 bed, 3 x 2 bed, 2 x 1 bed) with 4 car parking spaces. Comment: This proposal is opposite 4 Grovelands and 10-12 Grovelands new developments (both of which have inadequate car parking). It is a four storey building of similar design to 4 Grovelands, and with very little amenity spaces. Object based on: Loss of a Family home, Overdevelopment, Out of Character, Detrimental to the amenity of neighbouring occupiers, In-adequate car parking / Highway safety.

Comment: I recall similar earlier proposals for part of this site. This is even larger and taller. Object based on: Loss of Family homes, Overdevelopment, Out of Character, Detrimental to the amenity of neighbouring occupiers, In-adequate car parking / Highway safety.

12 Purley Rise (Ref: 21/05635/OUT) Demolition of existing family home and construction of a block of 8 flats (3 x 2 bed, 5 x 1 bed) with 5 car parking spaces. Comment: This is a sketchy application (presumably because it is Outline). 15a Russell Hill (Ref: 21/06276/FUL) Demolition of existing family home and construction of 7 flats (2 x 3 bed, 4 x 2 bed, 1 x 1 bed) with 4 car parking spaces. Appeals

56 Smitham Downs Road (Ref: 21/03264/OUT) Demolition of existing family home and construction of 9 flats (3 x 3 bed, 6 x 2 bed) Comment: This appeal has been lodged as Croydon did not determine the application within required time limits. The officers report on the planning portal shows that it was heading for a refusal (Out of character, Detrimental to the amenity of neighbouring occupiers, Poor accommodation for occupiers, Highways).

Withdrawn

47 Graham Road (Ref: 21/03344/FUL) Demolition of existing property and erection of 5 x 3 bedroom houses.

One Comment

  1. It seems that Croydon council is not prepared to listen to Croydon residents concerns and granting planning applications. I am Requesting council to stop approving planning applications
