New Bus Route (July 2023 only)
You may be aware that during the A22 Godstone Road closure, the 434 will be diverted via Higher Drive and Old Lodge lane Purley.
This is a long diversion and it is impossible for the 434 to keep to its schedule. When this last happened (for 3 months) buses started the day running 10 minutes late and this progressed during the day up to a hour with buses being turned and never making the end of the route at either end.
After a week TfL added a 4th bus into the schedule which resolved the problem.
East Surrey Transport Committee (which PWRA are members) heard this morning (Tues 28th June 2023) from London General/Metro Bus that TfL is not willing to put in an extra bus.
They have introduced a temporary time table with a 40 minute headway instead of a 30 minute frequency.
This will mean as the day goes on a bus could run up to 20 minutes later than a present.
