Inside Croydon: Residents Associations come together to reject ‘intensification’

Last month Cllr Paul Scott, the cabinet member responsible for the current unacceptable planning regime in the Borough (especially in our area and the south of the Borough generally), wrote what can best be described as a self-congratulatory article about Croydon planning in the council published ‘Your Croydon’ magazine. This article also set out to justify a further intensification of housing development in the South of the Borough, and in Purley and Coulsdon area in particular.

Cllr Scott used selectively chosen information to justify this further intensification, and many of the local Residents Associations, including ourselves, felt that this created such a distorted and incorrect picture that we must respond, and respond as a united group of Residents Associations. Lead by KENDRA, we produced the response that has now been published by Inside Croydon. A link to the published article is below. Please feel free to further distribute this article to show how important it is to resist both the current planning regime, and attempts to intensify it further for our area.

  1. A united collaboration maybe the only way to stop some of these ridiculous planning and buildings. Good luck with all your efforts. A Riddlesdown resident for 25 years and so upset with Croydon Labour Council sadly destroying our area. Thank you
