Be part of the record breaking Purley Food & Drink – Saturday, 28th May -Saturday, 04th June

Purley Business Improvement District (BID) invites you to taste the best of what’s available in Purley during its inaugural Food & Drink Week. For the event week you can take advantage of many very special offers and great competitions and prepare to break a world record.

The festival climaxes with a Craft beer festival on Friday and Saturday 3rd and 4th June with a main Food festival in the High Street on Saturday, 4th of June. For those with a competitive nature there is a challenge to take part in unique World Record Attempt – catching pears and lemons blind-folded, yes, let’s put Purley on the map! There are also many family activities and street entertainers for a day not to be missed.

Event Organiser Simon Cripps says: ‘Purley is delighted to welcome everyone to experience our brilliant Food & Drink places. There is so much going on in our small town with a week of great offers, live music, world records, cooking demonstration, Beer Festival and a bit of fun…there is no excuse not to get involved!’

There are several other exciting events planned for the Food & Drink Week:

BEER FESTIVAL

Friday, 3rd and Saturday, 4th June: A Beer Festival featuring British, European and Asian beers will be held at the Christ Church (Brighton Road).

On Saturday, 4th of June, there will be live music, cooking demonstrations and an opportunity to take part in a unique World Record attempt – yes, you have heard it correctly – we invite everyone to help Purley to gain a world record for catching lemons and pears blind-folded … No prior experience required – does this opportunity excite you?

STREET MARKET

Saturday, 4th June: A Street Market will take place on Market Square, Purley Town Centre (where you can enjoy local food and drinks, listen to live music, learn from cooking demonstrations, and take part in many family activities; of course, there is the world record attempt, also).
